Job Title: Associate, Distribution
Business Segment: Corporate & Investment Banking
Location: Walter Carrington Cres, Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend client engagements as part of the cross-functional CIB deal team and deliver technical components of pitch presentations in support of the deal process
  • Build, review, analyse, evaluate and maintain financial models. Perform valuations and other analyses (e.g., credit, discounted cash flow and multiples-based analyses)
  • Contribute analysis, insights, financial models and documentation management towards the financial and capital structuring of bespoke transactions
  • Contribute towards the delivery of digital solutions to augment client experience for interactive monitoring of investment activities
  • Develop proficient understanding of products, processes and markets to independently manage transactions through internal processes, engaging with internal stakeholders for regulatory sign-offs
  • Develop client networks and maintain regular contact with clients to understand their businesses and financial performance drivers
  • Develop external stakeholder relationships across various market practitioners including lawyers, accountancy and advisory firms
  • Formulate supporting documentation including circulars, offering memorandums, engagement letters, term sheets, pricing supplements and legal agreements while adhering to risk and regulatory frameworks
  • Foster internal stakeholder relationships across CIB (Client Coverage, Global Markets, Legal) to develop market understanding and execution capabilities
  • Manage quality control of all deliverables and contribute to weekly/monthly reports
  • Participate in marketing via conference calls, physical roadshows, and conferences
  • Provide on-the-job guidance to less experienced team members
  • Generate insights and recommendations from research and analyses activities
  • Source, collate, evaluate, and maintain relevant documents, data, and trends
  • Organise and manage the preparation of marketing and roadshow presentations

Required Skills

  • First Degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or Social Sciences
  • CFA Level 1 or chartered with ACCA, CFA, ACA, etc
  • 3-4 years demonstrated ability to work independently, with a track record managing multiple workstreams
  • Proven track record comfortably interacting with business clients and management
  • Demonstrated organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong track record in financial modelling and analysis
  • Basic understanding of P&L and various capital structures
  • Asset-backed financing and/or credit experience is a plus
  • Seasoned technology experience and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Excellent Excel (macros, pivot tables, look-ups and filtering), Word and PowerPoint skills
