Job Description

An NGO is seeking an Associate Programme Officer for an NYSC role with a compulsory 1-year retainership. The officer will support the planning and implementation of the foundation's health programmes and outreach activities, focusing on maternal health education, screenings, and community engagements. The position is based in Warri, Delta State.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and implementation of the foundation's health programmes and outreach activities.
  • Assist in coordinating maternal health education, screenings, and community engagements.
  • Support data collection, basic health reporting, and documentation of programme outcomes.
  • Liaise with healthcare providers, community health workers, and local stakeholders.
  • Support monitoring of programme quality, safety, and adherence to health protocols.
  • Assist with logistics, beneficiary coordination, and reporting for health interventions.
  • Support health awareness campaigns and training sessions.

Required Skills

  • Education: A degree or diploma in Nursing, Midwifery, Community Health, Medical Laboratory Science, Public Health, or another recognised paramedical field is required.
  • Experience: 2–3 years of experience working in healthcare delivery, community health, or maternal health programmes are an advantage. Experience with NGOs, foundations, or community-based health initiatives is desirable.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Basic clinical or health systems knowledge relevant to maternal and community health.
    • Strong communication and community engagement skills.
    • Organisational and reporting abilities.
    • Ability to handle sensitive health information with confidentiality and care.
    • Compassionate, culturally sensitive, calm under pressure, ethically grounded, dependable, and deeply committed to improving health outcomes.
