We are currently recruiting a Business/ Data Analyst on behalf of our client within the Oil and Gas/ Energy sector.

Job Description

The Business/ Data Analyst will be responsible for ensuring enterprise-wide availability of accurate, timely, and
actionable data to support strategy execution, Balanced Scorecard performance monitoring, KPI governance,
strategic initiative tracking, and management decision-making. concepts.

Key Responsibilities

● Serve as the technical owner and administrator of the Strategy Management System.
● Build, automate, and maintain data pipelines feeding corporate and entity-level KPIs into dashboards and performance reports.
● Develop and maintain data dictionaries, KPI metadata standards, and data governance guidelines.
● Ensure data quality, accuracy, completeness and timeliness across all monthly and quarterly submissions.
● Flag data anomalies, inconsistencies and breaches in KPI definitions.
● Build analytical models to track KPI trends, target attainment, variances, sensitivity indicators,
leading/lagging metrics, and operational correlations.
● Maintain the Corporate Balanced Scorecard dashboard and provide monthly insights.
● Perform root-cause analysis for KPI underperformance and recommend corrective actions.
● Build and maintain initiative tracking dashboards (milestones, RAG status, risks, owners, benefits).
● Create automated scripts/rules to detect KPI deviations and early-warning signals.
● Develop automated, interactive dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik for dashboards.
● Prepare visuals and analytics for Monthly Strategy Report, Quarterly Strategy Execution Review Pack and Board Strategy Papers.Support in computing initiative benefits realization (financial & non-financial).
● Monitor initiative pacing, execution discipline, bottlenecks, and cross-dependencies.
● Conduct deep-dive data analyses on revenue drivers, operational metrics, risk exposures, cost trends, and efficiency indicators.
● Build predictive and scenario-based models to support strategy reviews and long range planning.
● Manage the monthly KPI submission workflow through automated reminders and system triggers.
● Support performance review sessions with real-time data visualization and analytics interpretation.
● Work with the team to maintain up-to-date repositories of dashboards, reports, and templates.
● Maintain audit trails for all strategy data to ensure integrity and compliance.

Required Skills

● Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
● 3–5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, consulting, or corporate planning.
● Experience working with multinational or matrix organizations preferred.
● Experience in oil & gas or financial services is a strong advantage.
● Strong proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar BI tools (expert-level preferred).
● Strong command of Excel, including advanced formulas, PowerQuery, PowerPivot and Marcos.
● Experience with data modelling, SQL queries, and database management systems.
● Ability to design and maintain ETL pipelines.
● Experience with strategy performance frameworks (Balanced Scorecard, OKRs, KPIs).
● Understanding of financial modelling, cost analysis, and performance analytics.
● Familiarity with scripting languages (Python/R) is an advantage.
● Experience in strategy, consulting, BI, or corporate performance environments.
