Job Description

We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Lead to drive revenue growth and build a strong client portfolio across the private sector, government institutions, and development partners. This role requires leveraging existing networks while identifying new opportunities to secure high-value engagements.

Key Responsibilities

•Drive revenue growth by closing high-value deals and expanding existing client relationships

•Build and manage a robust client portfolio across private sector, government, and development partners

•Identify, pursue, renew, and expand business opportunities aligned with client’s strategic priorities

•Lead deal origination, proposal development, and contract negotiations

•Collaborate with technical and program teams to develop tailored client solutions

•Translate sales strategies into actionable initiatives in collaboration with marketing and communications teams

•Represent the client at industry events, seminars, conferences, and stakeholder forums

•Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities in food systems, nutrition, agriculture, and health

Required Skills

•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Development, or a related field

•Master’s degree (MBA or related) is highly desirable

•Minimum of 8 years’ experience in business development or consulting, with proven revenue growth

•Strong ability to originate deals, manage pipelines, and secure high-value contracts

•Established networks within food systems, agribusiness, manufacturing, investors, and government institutions

•Experience working with development partners is an advantage
