Job Description

An NGO is seeking a Creative Storytelling Video Editor to edit short and long-form videos for programmes, campaigns, reports, documentaries, and social media platforms. The role involves developing narrative-driven content that highlights beneficiary stories, programme outcomes, and organisational milestones. The position is based in Warri, Delta State.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit short and long-form videos for programmes, campaigns, reports, documentaries, and social media platforms.
  • Develop narrative-driven video content that highlights beneficiary stories, programme outcomes, and organisational milestones.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Programmes teams to translate concepts, scripts, and storyboards into engaging visual outputs.
  • Add subtitles, captions, graphics, music, and transitions to enhance storytelling and accessibility.
  • Ensure visual consistency with the organisation's brand identity, tone, and communication standards.
  • Organise and manage raw footage, project files, and digital assets in an orderly archive.
  • Support the creation of reels, short-form content, and multimedia assets for digital campaigns.
  • Assist in documenting events, training, community engagements, and institutional activities through video.
  • Adhere to ethical storytelling principles, including informed consent and respectful representation of communities and beneficiaries.

Required Skills

  • Education: A degree, diploma, or certification in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, Visual Arts, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in video editing, multimedia production, or digital storytelling. Experience producing content for social media, campaigns, or documentaries is an advantage. Experience working with non-profits, development organisations, or social impact projects is desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools.
    • Strong storytelling and narrative editing skills, with an understanding of pacing, structure, and emotional resonance.
    • Basic motion graphics and subtitle creation skills.
    • Knowledge of social media video formats and digital content optimisation.
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Good communication and collaboration skills.
