Job Description

Job Title: DevOps Engineer
Location: Remote (U.S.-Based Virtual Operating Center)
Job Type: Full-time
Department: DevOps

EverOps is looking for a DevOps Engineer who is passionate about automation, cloud infrastructure, and developer enablement. This role blends hands-on project work with engineer-facing support and triage responsibilities. You will work closely with customer engineering teams to improve CI/CD systems, cloud environments, infrastructure automation, and platform reliability.

This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career engineer who wants exposure to real-world cloud environments while building strong automation fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer Support & Triage: Respond to infrastructure and CI/CD-related tickets from engineering teams. Troubleshoot build failures, deployment issues, IAM/permissions problems, networking misconfigurations, and container runtime errors. Identify recurring issues and propose automation-based solutions.
  • Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation. Improve reusable modules and promote DRY infrastructure patterns. Write automation scripts in Python, Go, or Bash to eliminate manual processes.
  • CI/CD & GitOps: Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar tools. Improve deployment reliability and rollback processes. Contribute to GitOps-based workflows using tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Cloud & Container Platforms: Support containerized workloads running on Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE, or self-managed clusters). Assist with namespace configuration, RBAC, and cluster hygiene. Help manage cloud resources across AWS and other major cloud providers.
  • Observability & Reliability: Assist in implementing and tuning monitoring and alerting systems (Datadog, Cloud-native monitoring tools). Help reduce alert fatigue and contribute to post-incident reviews.
  • Continuous Improvement: Document processes, create internal runbooks, and identify opportunities to automate manual support workflows. Collaborate with senior engineers on platform enhancement projects.

Required Skills

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related roles. Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience supporting engineers or responding to infrastructure-related tickets.
  • Automation Mindset (High Priority): Hands-on experience writing automation scripts or small tooling projects. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code principles. Strong desire to eliminate repetitive operational work through automation. Comfort working in CLI-based and Git-driven environments.
  • Containers & CI/CD: Basic understanding of Docker and Kubernetes. Experience working with CI/CD systems. Familiarity with version control workflows (Git).
  • Technical Foundations: Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancers, VPCs, firewalls). Understanding of IAM concepts and access control. Ability to debug logs and interpret system errors.
  • Collaboration: Strong written communication skills. Comfort working in a ticket-driven queue while balancing project work. Eagerness to learn from senior engineers and take ownership of tasks.

Extra Awesome

  • Experience with AI SRE Platforms / Concepts.
  • Experience contributing to internal developer platforms (IDPs).
  • Exposure to multi-account or multi-environment cloud governance models.
  • Familiarity with policy-as-code concepts.
  • Experience building small internal tools used by other engineers.
  • Cloud or Kubernetes foundational certifications.

  • Unlimited Paid Time Off.
  • Equity – Become a true owner of the company.
  • 401K with company contribution and sponsored healthcare.
