Job Description

LEAF is seeking an External Associate / Editorial Assistant to join their research, content, and events team. This role involves creating high-value content, property reviews, and analysis for publication, helping to improve the quality of writing, refine drafts, support editorial processes, and bring clarity, structure, and discipline to how ideas are developed and presented.

  • Job Location: Lagos (Hybrid)
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Salary: ₦250,000 Monthly

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and write content for clarity, grammar, tone, and flow across multiple formats (reports, articles, scripts, presentations, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain high-quality editorial content for various publications.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to implement complex ideas into compelling narratives.
  • Support the development of content distribution plans and distribution strategies.
  • Work closely with other LEAF staff members to develop and implement editorial strategies.
  • Maintain editorial calendars and schedules.
  • Manage junior editorial contributors on writing quality and commercial viability practices.
  • Liaise with media, marketing, and production teams to align written materials for various channels (print, digital, video, audio, etc.).

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2–5 years’ experience in editorial, communications, or brand leadership, with exposure to high-profile corporate, NGO, media, or thought leadership platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead communications strategy and deliver measurable results.
  • Strong command of English (written and spoken).
  • Experience engaging audiences in investment, entrepreneurship, or African economic sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in managing teams and cross-functional projects in fast-paced environments.
