About the Company

Lokoja is a data intelligence company that tracks staple prices across 67 markets and runs a free WhatsApp assistant traders use in five languages. The organization is hiring Field Ambassadors to be its face in major markets across Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure and maintain the goodwill of market association leadership before any trader outreach begins.
  • Demonstrate the WhatsApp assistant to traders daily; help them send their first question and their tenth.
  • Onboard traders with your personal ambassador code — your work is measured on real usage, automatically.
  • Submit a complete weekly market report, on time, every week — no estimates presented as quotes.
  • Feed back what traders ask for that the assistant can't yet answer.
  • Represent Lokoja properly: branded ID and shirt provided; the assistant is free and no fees are ever collected from traders.

Required Skills

  • Education: minimum of an SSCE / secondary school certificate.
  • You are already known in this market — you trade here, have traded here, or have worked it daily. Association ties are a strong plus.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and basic community management — you can win over a sceptical trader and keep a group engaged.
  • Fluent in the market's trade language and Pidgin or English.
  • An active smartphone and social-media user — WhatsApp daily, confident enough to teach it — and comfortable picking up team messaging tools like Slack.
  • Able to produce formal written reports and updates: your weekly market report is a core deliverable, not an afterthought.
  • Comfortable with numbers: you never mix up a 50kg and a 100kg bag price.
  • Trustworthy and self-directed — you'll work unsupervised and be paid on verified results.
