A company based in Ikeja, Lagos, is seeking a Finance Intern to join its finance team. The organization is dedicated to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with statutory tax obligations.

• Process bank transactions and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and remit statutory taxes, including Company Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), PAYE, Pension, NHF, NSITF, and ITF.
• Prepare and file PAYE returns with relevant state tax authorities and submit other statutory returns within stipulated deadlines.
• Process staff advances, retirements, and reimbursements, and reconcile staff advance accounts.
• Participate actively in month-end and year-end financial close activities.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts and promptly resolve reconciling items.
• Track and reconcile staff flight costs with the company's travel agent.
• Process contractor payments and maintain accurate petty cash records, including monthly reconciliations.
• Perform any other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by the Finance Controller.

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting or a related discipline (minimum Second Class Lower / Upper Credit).
• 0-1 year of relevant accounting experience.
• Progress toward ICAN qualification (ATS or Professional level) is required.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
