An early-stage independent writing studio is producing original business blogs for lifestyle businesses across real estate, travel & hospitality, home & living, beauty & personal care, and food & beverage. The studio is looking for a freelance editorial blog writer with strong writing and editorial judgment.

• Review client websites, existing blog, business, audience, voice, and other relevant information.
• Develop editorial direction for four articles, including subject, angle, and purpose of each piece.
• Communicate editorial direction and identify what is needed from the client to execute it well.
• Conduct secondary research and write, substantively edit, and proofread each article.
• Handle one reasonable revision round per article.
• Ensure articles are original, well researched, appropriate to the client's voice and audience, structurally sound, and genuinely worth reading.

• Strong writing and editorial judgment.
• Ability to look at a business, understand what it does and who it speaks to, and make good decisions about what is worth writing about.
• Comfortable researching unfamiliar subjects and learning businesses relatively quickly.
• Ability to develop article ideas and angles independently.
• Adapt writing across different voices and consumer-facing lifestyle subjects.
• Articles are substantively human-written. Generative AI cannot be used to research, draft, rewrite, or substantively edit client work.
