Job Description

Urehgab is hiring a Human Resources Officer to support our client. This role is for an early-career HR professional who doesn’t just want to “do HR admin,” but wants to learn how great companies are built from the inside out.

You will work closely with leadership to support day-to-day HR operations, recruitment, onboarding, and people processes that keep our team aligned, supported, and compliant.

This is a growth seat, not a holding role designed for someone ready to build a solid HR foundation and grow into people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Systems

  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding across the employee lifecycle
  • Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and HR documentation
  • Assist in implementing HR policies, guidelines, and internal processes
  • Track attendance, leave requests, and core employee data

Recruitment & Talent Support

  • Support internal hiring by coordinating interviews and scheduling
  • Assist with job postings, candidate communication, and follow-ups
  • Prepare offer letters and employment documentation

Employee Experience & Engagement

  • Support team engagement initiatives and internal activities
  • Serve as a first point of contact for basic HR and people-related questions
  • Assist in addressing minor employee concerns and escalating when required

Performance, Learning & Growth

  • Support performance review cycles and documentation
  • Assist with training programs and learning initiatives
  • Help track employee feedback, growth plans, and development progress

Compliance & Reporting

  • Support compliance with labour laws and internal HR policies
  • Assist with HR reports, data updates, and record keeping
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR matters

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience in HR, administration, or people operations (internships included)
  • Basic understanding of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices
  • Strong organisational, communication, and documentation skills
  • A learning mindset and willingness to grow in a fast-paced environment
