Job Description

GE HealthCare is seeking an Intern for Field Services. The intern will undergo basic training on technical support for GE medical equipment, shadowing and observing existing field engineers to learn how equipment is serviced and managed. This is a 3-month program designed for students eligible for their SIWES (Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme) placement. 

  • Location: Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria, 106104
  • Job Type: SIWES Internship (Co-op/Intern)
  • Program Duration: 3 months
  • Eligibility: Candidate must be eligible and currently due for their SIWES placement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical: Work with and understudy experienced field engineers on various modalities in the assigned area.
  • Electronic/Mechanical: Basic level understanding about troubleshooting and technical safety (EHS).
  • Customer Satisfaction: Daily interface with doctors and technicians on equipment status issues. Act to ensure satisfaction to primary customers. Assist in Account Sales visits; help train others where necessary; identify Sales opportunities and communicate to account team.
  • Productivity: Support any Warranty and PMS contract cost control.
  • Administration: Responsibly completes all administration tasks on time.
  • Installation: Play a support role on basic installation process offsite. Share best practices. Maintain effective quality systems and programs compliant with ISO 9001 standard.

Required Skills

  • Qualified to National Diploma One (ND1) Cadre or Higher National Diploma One (HND1) Cadre in selected Nigeria Ministry of Health certified Biomedical Schools.
  • Technical analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction.
  • High work standards and quality.
  • Initiative and motivation.
  • Plans and organizes work effectively.
  • Excellent communications, listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Customer skills; deals tactfully and effectively with differences of opinion, influences rather than directs.
