Job Description

A real-time neurophysiological monitoring is provided by Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Technician during surgical procedures to ensure safety and optimal surgical outcomes. The role requires collaboration with surgeons, anaesthetist and neurologist using advance electrophysiological approach to detect and prevent neural injury during surgery. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Physiology, Anatomy and other related disciplines.
  • Formal training in neurophysiology and neuroanatomy (mandatory).
  • Specialised training in EEG or clinical neurophysiology is a strong advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 months on-the-job training and refresher training would be provided to selected candidates.

Required Skills

  • 0-1 year post NYSC experience in clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of peripheral and central nervous system anatomy as well as pathway of neurophysiology relevant to surgical procedures.
  • Experience working in critical care environment or in operating theatres.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate within Nigeria when required.

Person's Specification: 

  • Excellent knowledge of neurophysiology and neuroanatomy applied to clinical and surgical settings.
  • Ability to quickly respond to intraoperative changes and strong attention to detail. 
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call and theatres schedules.
  • Effective communication skills for working with surgical teams from different disciplines.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a time- sensitive, high risk environment. 
  • High commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality and patient safety. 
  • Preferences would be given to applicants from the Eastern region (especially Enugu) and Northern region of the country (especially Abuja).

  • Candidates should demonstrate a strong passion for advancing neurodiagnostic and surgical safety services in Nigeria.
