The Inventory Officer will receive, inspect, and document incoming inventory while maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring proper storage practices to support seamless production and retail operations.

About the Company

A fashion house in Lekki is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Inventory Officer to manage stock levels, track materials, and ensure efficient inventory control across production and retail units. The organization values precision, organization, and adherence to FIFO principles within a fast-paced creative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and properly document all incoming inventory including fabrics, trims, accessories, and finished goods
  • Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems and manual logs where applicable
  • Monitor stock levels and initiate timely replenishment requests to avoid production delays
  • Issue materials to production staff based on approved requisitions and schedules
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and reconciliations
  • Investigate and report discrepancies, damages, shortages, or losses promptly
  • Ensure proper labeling, categorization, and storage of inventory items
  • Implement and maintain FIFO (First-In-First-Out) inventory practices strictly
  • Prepare regular inventory reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for management review
  • Maintain proper documentation for stock movement, transfers, returns, and write-offs
  • Provide inventory data to support production planning and budgeting decisions
  • Ensure inventory storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with company standards
  • Enforce inventory control policies and procedures consistently
  • Support audits and internal checks when required

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Accounting, or related field
  • 1 to 3 years experience in inventory or store management (fashion industry experience is an added advantage)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
  • Knowledge of FIFO principles and stock reconciliation best practices
