The Inventory Support Officer will manage the complete lifecycle of POS terminals or spare parts within the repair centre, ensuring end-to-end traceability, custody controls, and inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

For POS Terminals:

  • Receive faulty/returned terminals, verify against waybills, and log into the Inventory Management System (IMS).
  • Monitor terminal movement through repair stages: Assessment → In Repair → QA Cleared → Dispatch.
  • Manage QA integration, flagging failed devices and classifying Beyond Economic Repair (BER) units.
  • Generate dispatch lists and waybills for outbound logistics.
  • Conduct daily physical counts and reconcile against IMS records.
  • Maintain segregated zones for faulty, under-repair, refurbished, and BER devices.
  • Enforce compliance with POS Inventory Control SOPs and uphold audit readiness.

For Spare Parts:

  • Receive spare parts consignments, verify against delivery notes, and log into IMS.
  • Store spare parts in designated, labelled bins, ensuring protection from moisture, dust, and extreme temperatures.
  • Issue spare parts only against approved Job Cards and update IMS stock levels immediately.
  • Reconcile physical stock against IMS records weekly and raise replenishment requests when needed.
  • Generate weekly consumption and stock-position reports.
  • Maintain issuance logs and track part-failure data.
  • Enforce segregation of duty and maintain proper zoning and cleanliness.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of OND in a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in inventory operations.
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and workflow applications.
  • Experience handling large volumes of items.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
