Job Description

The IT Intern will support enterprise IT infrastructure operations across Baobab Nigeria branches. This role focuses on hardware management, system monitoring, user support, and infrastructure maintenance to ensure operational continuity within a regulated microfinance banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure hardware systems are properly configured, deployed, and utilized; train users on IT tools
  • Provide end-user support for IT infrastructure and resolve issues within 48 hours; no support ticket should remain unattended for more than 4 business hours
  • Maintain and update IT inventory records, ensuring system integrity, confidentiality, and availability
  • Ensure all Windows devices are updated and compliant:
    • No Windows updates older than 10 days
    • No antivirus updates older than 3 days
    • 100% PC management coverage with valid licenses
    • Mobile devices properly enrolled in MDM
  • Maintain functionality of infrastructure systems (Inverters, PCs, Network devices, CCTV cameras, etc.) across branches
  • Perform routine checks on network devices and report anomalies within 24 hours
  • Ensure biometric machines are functional in all Baobab Nigeria branches
  • Carry out additional duties assigned by the Line Supervisor or Departmental Head

Required Skills

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Electronics, or related discipline
  • Must have completed NYSC (preferably within the last 6 months)
  • IT-related certifications are an added advantage
  • Good knowledge of Enterprise IT Infrastructure
  • Knowledge of microfinance banking operations is desirable

  • Self-driven and capable of independent task execution

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
