The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) seeks suitable Nigerian nationals for the role of IT Operations Assistant at its headquarters in Ibadan.

This is a 6-month renewable contract position focused on maintaining and supporting the institute’s IT infrastructure, hardware systems, and helpdesk operations.

Location: Ibadan, Oyo State
Contract Duration: 6 months (renewable)
Closing Date: 20 February 2026

• Document hardware failures, repairs, installations, and removals
• Repair computers, peripherals, network equipment, printers, A/V systems, and related software
• Perform desktop fixes including installation, upgrades, and configuration of systems and applications
• Ensure antivirus software and virus definitions are up to date
• Work on tickets logged via the institutional helpdesk (Freshworks)
• Log, receive, and respond to incidents, requests, and problems on Freshworks
• Follow up on assigned tickets through resolution
• Ensure IT requests are attended to and closed properly to customer satisfaction
• Work with end-users to deliver required PC service levels
• Assess hardware or software malfunctions and determine corrective action
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar role within a well-structured environment

Competencies:

• Excellent client relations and management skills
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Client Technologies (Windows 10 & 11) and MacOS
