Job Description

A healthcare organization (pharmacy/hospital) is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to manage financial operations within a healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on accounting experience, preferably within a hospital or medical practice setting, and a strong understanding of healthcare financial systems and compliance requirements. The position is based in Oshodi, Lagos.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Bookkeeping

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of bank statements and accounts.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Develop and monitor departmental budgets.
  • Support financial planning and cash flow forecasting.
  • Track expenditure against approved budgets.

3. Inventory Management

  • Monitor medical supplies and pharmaceutical inventory.
  • Reconcile inventory records with financial statements.
  • Implement cost control measures.

4. Payroll Management

  • Process staff payroll accurately and on time.
  • Ensure statutory deductions and remittances are compliant.
  • Maintain payroll records and documentation.

5. Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare financial regulations and best practices.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Maintain proper documentation for regulatory review.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience (healthcare experience preferred).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
