Job Description

The Junior Finance Associate supports the finance team in delivering accurate accounting, reporting, and financial support services to both the firm and its clients. The role involves hands-on exposure to core accounting tasks, client assignments, and consulting environments under the supervision of the Senior Finance Associate. The role may involve secondment to client organizations to support day-to-day accounting and finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping Support

  • Assist in maintaining accurate accounting records and general ledger entries
  • Support preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements
  • Perform bank, vendor, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process invoices, expense claims, and journal entries

Client Support & Secondment

  • Provide accounting and finance support when assigned to client engagements or secondments
  • Assist with client bookkeeping, documentation, and financial data organization
  • Support payroll preparation and statutory filings under supervision
  • Liaise with client staff to obtain required financial information

Reporting & Analysis

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis exercises
  • Assist in preparing schedules for audits, tax filings, and management reviews
  • Compile financial data and reports for internal and client use

Compliance & Controls

  • Support compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with internal and external audit processes
  • Follow established internal controls and accounting procedures

Learning & Development

  • Participate in on-the-job training and professional development activities
  • Apply feedback from Senior Finance Associate to improve technical and professional skills
  • Support process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
  • 0–1 year relevant work experience
  • Part-qualified professional certification (ICAN/ACCA/CPA) is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software
  • Professional attitude, integrity, and reliability
