Job Description

The Junior Infrastructure Engineer will manage user access, provision hosts across bare metal and cloud environments, handle DNS operations, perform security tasks, and develop CI/CD pipelines while responding to Jira tickets and maintaining comprehensive documentation within the organisation’s Infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage user lifecycle including onboarding, offboarding, and access control
  • Provision new hosts and maintain production servers across bare metal, public cloud, and private cloud
  • Handle DNS records, domain registrations, renewals, transfers, and decommissioning
  • Perform security tasks including firewall configuration and regular OS updates
  • Monitor infrastructure, respond to alerts and incidents, and minimize service disruption
  • Resolve requests through Jira ticketing system within agreed response times
  • Create and integrate new services into existing infrastructure per development specifications
  • Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate routine administration tasks
  • Write and maintain clear documentation for services, tasks, and procedures

Required Skills

  • Good working knowledge of RHEL-based operating systems including CentOS and AlmaLinux
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols
  • Experience with bare metal servers, virtual machines, and containers
  • Basic understanding of infrastructure and service monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with Ansible or other configuration management platforms
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English for clear technical documentation
  • Ability to investigate problems independently and find effective solutions
  • Eagerness to learn new concepts quickly in a remote-first environment
  • Passion for infrastructure, DevOps, and system administration disciplines
