Job Description

A company is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented lawyer with 2–3 years of post-call experience to join their legal team. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, and eager to grow within a dynamic legal environment. This role offers hands-on exposure to a broad range of legal matters including corporate advisory, litigation support, regulatory compliance, and contract drafting. The position is based in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal opinions, memoranda, and briefs.
  • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Provide support in litigation matters including case preparation, court filings, and liaising with external counsel.
  • Monitor changes in relevant legislation and advise on necessary actions.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance and due diligence for corporate transactions.
  • Attend meetings, court proceedings, or regulatory hearings as required.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of legal activities.

Required Skills

  • A law degree from a recognized institution.
  • Called to the Nigerian Bar (or relevant jurisdiction).
  • 2–3 years of relevant post-NYSC legal experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of corporate/commercial law and dispute resolution.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
