Job Description

A Maintenance Clerk is needed to provide administrative and clerical support to the maintenance department in a plastic manufacturing company in Ibadan, Oyo State. The role ensures proper documentation, tracking of maintenance activities, spare parts inventory management, and smooth coordination between maintenance and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities (preventive and corrective)
  • Log work orders, track progress, and update maintenance schedules
  • Assist in planning and scheduling routine maintenance tasks
  • Manage and update equipment maintenance history and reports
  • Monitor and record spare parts usage and inventory levels
  • Raise requisitions for spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials
  • Coordinate with procurement and stores to ensure timely availability of parts
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports
  • File and organize technical documents, manuals, and service records
  • Support communication between maintenance team and production department
  • Ensure compliance with company documentation and audit requirements

Required Skills

  • OND or HND in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • 1–3 years experience in an administrative or maintenance support role
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an added advantage
  • Record keeping and documentation skills
  • Data entry and reporting skills
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication and coordination skills
  • Basic technical understanding of maintenance processes
