About the Company

First Cardiology Consultants is a healthcare provider in Lagos seeking a competent and motivated Medical Officer for a 4-month contract position, with an interest in career development in Internal Medicine, Medical Specialties, or Critical Care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care and management of patients with acute and chronic medical conditions under appropriate supervision.
  • Develop competence through on-the-job learning in clinical assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and management of medical conditions.
  • Perform basic clinical procedures and diagnostic tests as required.
  • Participate in treatment, preventive healthcare, and other clinical services as delegated by the supervising healthcare provider.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using the EMR.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, professionalism, and impartiality at all times.
  • Liaise effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and quality patient care.
  • Provide clinical instructions and support to nursing staff and other clinical teams as required.
  • Adhere to the hospital’s clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Required Skills

  • Degree in Medicine (MBBS) from an accredited university.
  • 1–3 years of post-qualification experience as a Medical Officer.
  • Successful completion of NYSC.
  • Current registration and a valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Good knowledge of General Medicine.
  • Computer literacy and ability to use electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good counselling, listening, and patient-care skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Willingness to work within the requirements of a 4-month contract.
