The Mixing Unit Operator is responsible for operating mixing and melting equipment on the Pet Jelly Unit at Alliance Chemicals' plant in Lagos Freezone, Ibeju-Lekki, ensuring petroleum jelly is blended consistently and to specification, and reporting to the Plant Operations Supervisor.

• Operate mixing/melting equipment for petroleum jelly production in line with standard operating procedures and formulation instructions.
• Monitor blend consistency, temperature, and mixing time throughout the process.
• Coordinate the packing unit in achieving set production output to keep the Pet Jelly Unit line flowing smoothly.
• Set up and adjust mixing parameters for different formulations.
• Carry out changeovers and cleaning between product runs, following line-clearance procedures.
• Conduct in-process checks on blend consistency and appearance.
• Complete batch and mixing logs and production records accurately and in real time.
• Flag non-conforming batches for review by the QC team.
• Follow safety procedures for handling heated equipment and semi-solid materials.
• Wear and maintain PPE as required and report any safety hazards immediately.
• Keep the mixing area clean, organised, and free of spillages.
• Perform basic maintenance checks on mixing equipment and report faults promptly.
• Support the Technician - Mechanical during planned servicing.
• Complete shift handover notes covering batches mixed, downtime, and any unresolved issues for the incoming shift.
• Track batch output against production targets and flag shortfalls promptly.
• Weigh and stage raw materials for each batch in line with the approved formulation.
• Verify raw material batch numbers and expiry against the production order before use.
• Reconcile raw material usage and report variances (MUV) to the Plant Operations Supervisor.

• OND/HND or a relevant technical/vocational qualification; SCE with relevant production experience will also be considered.
• 1 to 2 years of experience operating mixing or blending machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in semi-solid, personal care, or FMCG production is an advantage.
• Comfortable working with mixing and blending machinery and following SOPs precisely.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Basic troubleshooting ability on the production line.
• Suggests practical improvements to mixing line efficiency and waste reduction.
• Reports issues honestly and follows safety and quality procedures without shortcuts.
• Understands that consistent blend quality directly affects customer satisfaction.
• Adapts quickly to changeovers and shifting production priorities.
• Consistently meets shift production targets.
• Takes pride in right-first-time output.
