Job Description

UNICEF Nigeria is seeking a National Consultant for Immunization Programme Monitoring & Evaluation to provide technical leadership in strengthening routine immunization data systems. By leveraging existing data management structures, the consultant will facilitate real-time tracking, develop data tools, conduct data quality reviews, and support performance analysis across UNICEF-supported LGAs. The goal is to enhance data use for action to reduce zero-dose and under-vaccinated children. This is a consultancy position based in Abuja for a duration of 10 months.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead routine immunization evidence generation in the 40 targeted LGAs and in outbreak-affected states
  2. Develop and manage the line list of health facilities supported by UNICEF and ensure the conduct of planned RI sessions in the facilities
  3. Facilitate the collection and analysis of baseline defaulter tracking data
  4. Assist the analysis of Vaccine preventable disease outbreak data to determine intervention
  5. Establish linkage with State, LGA M&E focal persons, and the WFP's
  6. Organize orientation on the project data management for State and LGA M&E focal persons for the supported states/LGAs

Required Skills

  • An advanced university degree in Social Science, Demography, Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, Statistics, Epidemiology, Health Education, or a relevant field
  • Eight years of relevant professional work experience with field work experience in Nigeria
  • Background/familiarity with data analytics and complex information management
  • Experience in complex and large-scale data management
  • Familiarity with different data analytics and visualization, and practical experience in the development of real monitoring dashboards using BI applications and other mobile application platforms like ODK
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills (written & verbal) across multiple audiences
  • High motivation and dedication to deliver results within strict timeframes
  • Experience in overseeing large, decentralized teams
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of any of the three major local languages is an advantage
