Job Description

OPPO is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to manage and process employee payroll accurately and on time. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with statutory requirements, maintain payroll records, and support payroll-related audits while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and in a timely manner for all employees.
  • Ensure correct computation of salaries, allowances, bonuses, deductions, and overtime.
  • Manage statutory deductions and remittances (PAYE, pension, NHF, NSITF, etc.).
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records and payroll systems.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll-related inquiries.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management review and decision-making.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required payroll documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on payroll and employee data updates.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years’ experience in payroll processing or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and statutory compliance in Nigeria.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and accounting software.
  • Advanced Excel skills for payroll analysis and reporting.
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
