Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with a strong finance and accounting background to support accurate and timely payroll processing. This is an execution-focused role, responsible for payroll operations and compliance. 

Must currently reside in Lagos

Key Responsibilities

*Prepare and process monthly payroll accurately and within agreed timelines
*Compute salaries, allowances, deductions, and statutory contributions
*Ensure accurate remittance of PAYE, pension, NHF, NSITF, and other statutory deductions
*Prepare payroll journals and support posting to the general ledger
*Reconcile payroll data with financial records and resolve variances
*Maintain payroll documentation, records, and audit trails
*Respond to payroll-related queries and resolve discrepancies promptly
*Support internal and external audits by providing payroll schedules and reports
*Ensure compliance with applicable payroll regulations and tax laws in Nigeria
*Provide payroll data to support budgeting and financial reporting as required

Required Skills

*Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline
*3–5 years’ practical payroll experience within a Finance or Accounting environment
*Professional certification is an advantage (ICAN, ACCA, CPA, or relevant payroll certification)
*Solid knowledge of Nigerian payroll regulations and statutory deductions
*Proficiency in payroll systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills
*High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
*Ability to work independently while reporting to a Line Manager
*Good communication and time-management skills
