Job Description

The Program Analyst will provide technical and operational support for the execution of assigned SCIDaR programs, contributing to program activities, gathering and analyzing information, and supporting program monitoring and reporting. This role requires a strong record of leadership and a commitment to the mission of SCIDaR.

SCIDaR is an indigenous nonprofit institution that works to accelerate positive health, social, and economic reforms through high-quality program design and implementation, capacity building, implementation science research, and knowledge generation. The organization works primarily to benefit disadvantaged and underserved populations across Nigeria and is expanding into West and Central African countries.

Key Responsibilities

Program Implementation

  • Support day-to-day execution of the program activities.
  • Contribute to a program workstream and escalate program challenges to Program Associate.
  • Gather and analyze information, formulate and test hypotheses, and develop and communicate recommendations.
  • Ensure close collaboration and coordination with cooperating partners to guarantee smooth implementation of activities and achievement of results.
  • Participate in routine technical problem-solving sessions with the primary client and relevant stakeholders.

Program Monitoring and Reporting

  • Regularly monitor and review program activities to ensure quality, accountability, and contractual compliance.
  • Document progress reports and liaise with key stakeholders.
  • Participate in structured mid-term and end-term program evaluations.

Required Skills

  • Compelling evidence of interest in and commitment to the mission of SCIDaR.
  • Demonstrated strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and thought leadership abilities.
  • Advanced computer usage skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytics.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Fast learner, open to learning from peers, subordinates, and supervisors collaboratively and at a rapid pace.
  • Strong logical reasoning and creative thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Results-oriented performer, experienced in developing and tracking self and team with clear KPIs.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Education and Experience

  • Academic training: Minimum of a Second-Class Upper Bachelor's degree in International Development, Applied Sciences and Technology, Policy and Strategy Development, Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Management, Nursing, Medicine and Surgery, Engineering, or a similarly relevant field from a reputable university.
  • Experience: 0-3 years of relevant post-NYSC experience.
  • Strong record of leadership in an academic, professional, or extracurricular setting.
