The Programme Assistant will serve as a key operational backbone for programme planning, stakeholder coordination, and monitoring, ensuring efficient delivery of democracy and governance interventions in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support comprehensive programme planning, implementation, and monitoring activities.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and programme documentation.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagements, meetings, workshops, and events effectively.
  • Track project timelines, deliverables, and maintain accurate programme records.
  • Provide operational and administrative support to ensure seamless programme delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date trackers, correspondence logs, and activity databases.
  • Conduct research on governance trends, civic actors, and political systems.
  • Assist with advocacy efforts related to elections and women’s participation.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, International Relations, Law, Development Studies, Gender Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in programme support, advocacy, research, public policy, or nonprofit/development environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting program coordination and stakeholder engagement in the governance space.
  • Strong understanding of Nigeria’s governance landscape, civic actors, political systems, and regional dynamics.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with persuasive articulation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and multitasking capabilities.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant software.
