Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited (“Renaissance”) is a leading integrated energy company committed to advancing energy security and industrialisation across Nigeria and the African continent through sustainable and innovative solutions.

Formerly known as The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC), Renaissance emerged on March 13, 2025, following the landmark acquisition by Renaissance Africa Energy Holding Company Limited (“Renaissance Holdco”), a British Virgin Island incorporated company. 

Renaissance Holdco is jointly owned by a consortium of four (4) Nigerian, and one (1) international companies, namely ND Western Limited; Aradel Energy Limited; Waltersmith Petroleum Development Company Limited; First Exploration and Petroleum Development OML 34 Limited; and Petrolin Trading Limited.

Job Description

Renaissance offers students in Nigerian tertiary institutions the opportunity to gain meaningful work experience through our Student Industrial Training and Internship Programme (SIWES/IT). The programme provides hands-on exposure, technical development, and real project participation across our business.

Eligible Fields of Study

Students currently enrolled in the following (and related) disciplines may apply:

  • Engineering
  • Geosciences
  • Information Technology / Computer Science
  • Pure & Applied Sciences / Environmental Sciences
  • Social Sciences & Arts
  • Commercial & Business Disciplines (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Admin)

Key Responsibilities

What the Internship Offers

The Renaissance internship programme is designed to enable students to:

  • Apply classroom theories and concepts to real business situations.
  • Build technical and professional skills through hands-on assignments, coaching, and supervision.
  • Develop essential workplace competencies including communication, ethics, HSSE awareness, teamwork, and leadership.
  • Gain insight into the energy sector and understand how large-scale operations function.
  • Build meaningful professional networks that support long-term career development.

Interns will work alongside experienced professionals across various capability areas. The knowledge, exposure, and skills gained during the attachment will be valuable stepping stones for future career opportunities.

Required Skills

To be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen.
  • Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate programme at a recognised university or polytechnic in Nigeria.
  • Have institutional authorisation/approval for Industrial Training (IT/SIWES).
  • Maintain a strong academic record (CGPA 3.5 and above).
