We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code. You will work closely with our product and design teams to deliver high-quality web applications that meet our business objectives.

Develop and maintain robust, scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices
Design and implement database schemas that support business processes
Integrate data storage solutions including databases, key-value stores, and blob stores
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to address these issues
Maintain code quality through unit testing and code reviews
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in Ruby on Rails development

Experience Required: 3-5 years

Required Qualifications
3-5 years of professional experience in Ruby on Rails development
Strong understanding of Ruby syntax and its nuances
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles
Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
Familiarity with concepts of MVC, RESTful APIs, and ORM (ActiveRecord)
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Git)
Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Understanding of fundamental design principles for building scalable applications
Must reside in Abuja or be willing to relocate

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with background job processing (Sidekiq, Resque)
Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js)
Experience with test-driven development (RSpec, Minitest)
Familiarity with deployment tools and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Heroku, DigitalOcean)
Understanding of Docker and containerization
Contributions to open-source projects
