The Social Media & Community Manager will own the product's daily presence across multiple platforms, build and manage communities, drive user acquisition, and help turn attention into active customers for a fast-growing fintech/crypto/AI startup.

About the Company

The organisation is building an AI-powered money platform for Africa, creating a simpler way for Africans to move value, manage digital assets, access stablecoins, and interact with financial services through conversation. The mission is to make money movement across Africa feel as easy as sending a message.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media Growth & Content Execution: Own daily presence across X, Instagram, TikTok, Telegram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and other relevant channels; build and manage content calendars; create strong content briefs; write high-quality captions, scripts, and threads; publish, schedule, optimize, and repurpose content; turn complex crypto and fintech concepts into simple, relatable African content.
  • Community Building & User Support: Build and manage communities across Telegram, WhatsApp, and other channels; welcome new users and guide them through onboarding; respond to user questions clearly and quickly; escalate technical issues; build trust and turn community members into advocates; gather user feedback and feature requests.
  • Growth & User Acquisition: Support campaigns to drive registrations and active users; execute referral, ambassador, campus, creator, and community growth programs; identify partnership opportunities; work with founders on launch campaigns, activation events, and growth experiments; track campaign performance and recommend improvements.
  • Paid Growth Coordination: Understand basics of paid acquisition (Meta, TikTok, X, Google Ads); work with ads specialists on campaign objectives, audience targeting, creative testing, and reporting on cost per lead, registration, KYC, and active user.
  • Reporting & Insights: Submit weekly growth and community reports; track content performance, engagement, and campaign outcomes; report user confusion points and conversion blockers; help build a dashboard of awareness, acquisition, activation, and retention metrics.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in social media, community, growth, or digital marketing.
  • Excellent written English and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to write clear, sharp, culturally relevant content.
  • Experience managing social media accounts for a brand, startup, creator, community, or agency.
  • Ability to work and think independently and move quickly without constant supervision.
  • Strong organization, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability to interpret data and make practical recommendations.
  • Strong Advantage: Experience in crypto, Web3, fintech, payments, or financial services; experience marketing to Nigerian or African audiences; experience running referral, ambassador, or community-led growth programs; Hausa language proficiency; Nigerian Pidgin fluency; experience working with influencers or creators; basic design or video editing skills (Canva, CapCut, Figma).
