The Store Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Banex Store, including stock handling, customer service, order preparation, store organisation, and accurate record-keeping. The successful candidate will ensure that products are properly received, recorded, stored, and released in line with company procedures while maintaining a clean, organised, and professional store environment.

• Open and close the store according to approved procedures.
• Maintain proper custody, arrangement, and presentation of products.
• Attend to walk-in customers and provide accurate product and price information.
• Record products received, sold, transferred, returned, or damaged.
• Maintain the Stock Movement Register and daily store checklist.
• Prepare approved customer orders for delivery or collection.
• Report stock shortages, damaged products, or unusual activities immediately.
• Support stock counts and reconciliation with the Accountant and Sales Manager.
• Ensure that products are not released without the required invoice, delivery record, or management approval.
• Protect store keys, company equipment, customer information, and other company resources.

• Minimum of OND, NCE, or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in retail, store operations, inventory, or customer service is an advantage.
• Good record-keeping and basic numerical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, WhatsApp, and digital record-keeping tools.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Honest, organised, reliable, and attentive to detail.
• Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.

Reporting Structure

The Store Clerk reports directly to the Sales Manager and works closely with the Sales Representative and Accountant.

Decisions Requiring Management Approval

Management approval must be obtained before:

• Changing approved prices or offering discounts or credit.
• Processing refunds, exchanges, or complimentary products.
• Adding or removing stickers, branding, or packaging.
• Customising or modifying company products.
• Moving or releasing stock outside normal approved transactions.
• Using company products, suppliers, customers, or store resources for any non-company activity.
