Job Description

This is a skill-based position – we don't care about your degrees or your CV; we care about your ability to watch a show and tell a great story. We're looking for a Story-Based TV Recap Writer to craft engaging, narrative-driven episode recaps for voiceover content.

Job Title: Story-Based TV Recap Writer
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Salary: ₦50,000 Monthly
Daily Output: 3 recaps per day

Key Responsibilities

Writers are expected to fully analyze each episode, make intelligent structural decisions about how to retell the story, and deliver recaps that feel like one cohesive, flowing narrative rather than a scene-by-scene summary. A significant focus is placed on original storytelling in modern, conversational English with a strict zero-tolerance policy for AI-generated fluff, dramatic clichés, or generic filler.

Required Skills

  • Good Story Sense & Structure: You can take a TV episode and turn it into a clear, flowing story, even if the scenes jump around. You know what to group together and what to leave out.
  • Plain, Simple English: You write in plain, present-tense English, using conjunctions to make the story flow. No "AI words," no em dashes, no quotation marks, no dramatic clichés.
  • Knowing What's Important (The Meat): You can tell the difference between a plot point that matters and fluff. You focus on the "how" and "why" instead of describing the weather or decorative bits.
  • Good Memory for Details: You can keep track of the story and connect the dots for the audience.
  • Scriptwriting Flow: You write for the ear. Your scripts are easy to read out loud with no awkward transitions like "meanwhile" or "back at the house."
  • Curious & Accurate: If you don't understand a plot twist, you research it to make sure you get it right.
  • Reliable & Fast: You're okay with a Monday-Friday routine and can comfortably knock out 3 solid recaps a day.
  • Attention to Key Details: You capture important conversations, decisions, or small moments that shape later events.

How to Apply (No CV Required)
Don't bother with a CV or a long application. Just send an email to recapcentral9@gmail.com with the subject line: TV Recap Writer - Ready to Test.

Once we get your email, we'll send you a link to two episodes. Your only interview is how well you recap those two episodes. If you can tell a good story, you're hired.

If you do not hear from us, kindly assume your application was unsuccessful.
