• Taking accurate body measurements and working with measurements provided by the team.
• Cutting fabrics correctly according to the design and measurements.
• Constructing dresses, tops, trousers, skirts, jackets and other fashion pieces.
• Reading and understanding fashion sketches and design instructions.
• Working closely with the Production Manager and creative team to bring designs to life.
• Paying attention to fitting, structure, finishing and overall appearance of each garment.
• Carrying out alterations and corrections where necessary.
• Ensuring seams, hems, zips, linings, darts and other finishing details are properly done.
• Working with different types of fabrics and understanding the appropriate sewing techniques for each.
• Working closely with the beading team where a garment requires embellishment.
• Meeting agreed production deadlines without compromising quality.
• Keeping the workspace and equipment properly maintained.
• Reporting any production challenges, fabric issues or design difficulties early enough.
• Checking completed garments before they are presented for fitting or delivery.
• Maintaining consistency in the quality of work produced.
