Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically sound Tax Associate to support tax compliance, advisory, and reporting functions for a growing client portfolio. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience within an audit, tax consulting, or accounting firm environment, with a solid understanding of Nigerian tax regulations and statutory filing processes.

  • Job Location: Sabo, Yaba – Lagos
  • Employment Type: Full-Time
  • Salary: ₦180,000 – ₦200,000 (Net)
  • Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in an audit, accounting, or tax consulting firm (mandatory)

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns, including Companies Income Tax (CIT), Value Added Tax (VAT), Withholding Tax (WHT), PAYE, and other statutory obligations.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities such as FIRS, LIRS, and other relevant agencies on tax matters.
  • Review financial records and supporting schedules to ensure tax accuracy and compliance.
  • Support tax audits, investigations, and reconciliations.
  • Conduct tax research and provide recommendations on tax efficiency and compliance risks.
  • Assist in developing tax planning strategies and delivering advisory services to clients.
  • Maintain organized tax documentation and ensure proper record management.
  • Monitor statutory deadlines to ensure timely filings and avoid penalties.
  • Respond professionally to client inquiries and maintain strong client relationships.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in an audit, accounting, or tax consulting firm (mandatory).
  • Bachelor's degree (B.Sc/HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Practical experience handling Nigerian tax filings and compliance processes.
  • Working knowledge of FIRS and State Internal Revenue Service procedures.
  • ICAN/ACCA certification or ICAN-in-view is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/tax software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
