Job Description

The Technical HR Assistant is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the HR department. You will manage the HR database, ensure the integrity of employee data for payroll and compliance, and provide analytical insights that help the bank make informed "people decisions."

Victoria Island, Lagos

Key Responsibilities

  • HRIS Management: Maintain and update the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), ensuring all employee records (new hires, promotions, exits) are accurate and secure
  • Data Analytics & Reporting: Extract and analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover rates, cost-per-hire, diversity stats) to create weekly and monthly reports for management
  • Technical Recruitment Support: Assist in sourcing and screening candidates for technical roles (IT, Risk, Fintech, Compliance) and manage the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Payroll & Benefits Support: Provide technical support during the payroll cycle by ensuring all data inputs (attendance, deductions, bonuses) are correctly synced with financial systems
  • Compliance & Audit: Prepare digital audit trails for internal and external auditors, ensuring the bank meets PenCom, NHF, and other regulatory filing requirements
  • Process Automation: Identify manual HR processes that can be digitized or automated to improve departmental efficiency

Required Skills

  • Education: B.Sc in Human Resources, Computer Science, Statistics, or Business Administration
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in an HR role within the Banking or Fintech sector
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in HRIS software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, BambooHR, or indigenous banking HR software)
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel (Data visualization, Macros, and complex formulas)
    • Knowledge of Data Privacy Laws (e.g., NDPR) regarding employee information
  • Professional Certification: Associate membership of CIPM or HRCI/SHRM is an added advantage
  • Competencies:
    • High attention to detail (critical for banking compliance)
    • Strong analytical and numerical skills
    • Ability to maintain extreme confidentiality
