The Tractor and Bulldozer Mechanic will diagnose machine malfunctions, determine repair needs, dismantle and repair defective parts, perform routine preventative maintenance, and ensure safe operation of tractors and bulldozers.

• Observe and listen to operating machines to diagnose malfunctions and determine repair needs.
• Read job orders and listen to equipment in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
• Dismantle machines to examine parts for defects and remove defective parts.
• Replace defective parts with new parts or repair/reproduce parts from metal stock.
• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on equipment and make adjustments.
• Assemble and test operate machines to verify repair success.
• Maintain and lubricate machine tools and equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance services.
• Clean tools and working area.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited tractor mechanic program.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment and tools.
