The Trainee FTTH Maintenance Technician will undergo a hands-on training program to become a skilled FTTH professional, learning to resolve outages and maintain fiber-to-the-home networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support outage resolution within MTTR for clients across clusters in Lagos.
  • Learn and apply FTTH fundamentals.
  • Handle cables and perform splicing.
  • Use OTDR, Power Meter, and VFL equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot faults.
  • Document and report field activities.
  • Adhere to safety, tools, and PPE standards.
  • Follow field practices and site etiquette.

Required Skills

  • Basic knowledge of electricity, cables, or networking (an advantage but not compulsory).
  • Ability to use a smartphone and navigation apps.
  • Willing to work outdoors, climb ladders, and work in difficult locations.
  • Available for shifts, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
  • Resident within or close to the assigned cluster.
  • Good eyesight, colour identification, and hand coordination.
  • Strong safety discipline.
  • No prior fibre experience is needed.
