Key Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive and visually compelling user interface (UI) elements, including screens, menus, input controls, widgets, and navigation flows, for both internal and customer-facing web and mobile applications.
  • Develop design deliverables including wireframes, user flows, mockups, interactive prototypes, user personas, customer journey maps, storyboards, and sitemaps.
  • Conduct and contribute to user research and usability testing activities to identify UX issues, validate design decisions, and inform iterative improvements.
  • Collaborate with product/project manager, process owners, business analyst, and development teams to ensure accurate and faithful implementation of designs throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Participate actively in requirement gathering sessions, design critiques, and project debriefs, incorporating feedback to refine and improve design outputs.
  • Prepare and present design concepts, prototypes, and rationale clearly to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Define and track usability metrics and contribute to the ongoing measurement and optimisation of application ease of use and overall user experience.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the organisation's design system, ensuring consistency in UI components, patterns, and brand guidelines across all digital products.
  • Apply accessibility standards and best practices (e.g., WCAG) to ensure digital products are inclusive and usable by diverse audiences.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and quality of design outputs.
  • Stay current with emerging design trends, tools, and technologies, applying relevant developments to continuously improve the quality and innovation of design work.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of a 2.2 in Information Technology, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Communications, Design, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as Google UX Design Professional Certificate, Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF) Certifications, Nielsen Norma Group (NN/g) UX or equivalent are an advantage.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years' experience in UI/UX design, product design, or a related role.
  • A portfolio showcasing UX/UI projects and demonstrating design process, problem-solving approach, and outcomes.
  • Solid understanding of UX design principles, user-centred design methodologies, and information architecture.
  • Familiarity with user research methods and usability testing techniques.
  • Proficiency in design tools, including Figma, Adobe XD or InVision.
  • Experience with collaborative design and whiteboarding tools (e.g., Miro, Mural, FigJam).
  • Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and interaction design for web and mobile applications.
  • Working knowledge of design systems and component libraries.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles (e.g., WCAG 2.1).
  • Basic understanding of front-end web technologies (HTML and CSS).
  • Awareness of AI tools and their application for design.
  • Understanding of agile and iterative product development processes.
