The Utilities Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring plant utility systems, including power, water, compressed air, and steam/boiler systems, at Alliance Chemicals' site in Lagos Freezone, Ibeju-Lekki, ensuring reliable utility supply to support production, and reporting to the Plant Operations Supervisor.

• Operate and monitor plant utility systems, including power supply, water supply system, air compressor, and boiler system.
• Conduct routine checks on utility equipment to ensure continuous, reliable and quality supply to production.
• Respond promptly to utility disruptions to minimise production downtime.
• Monitor and test standby power systems (e.g. generators) to ensure readiness in the event of a power outage.
• Support fuel management and refuelling logistics for standby generators.
• Perform basic operator-level maintenance and inspection of utility equipment.
• Support the Engineering team during planned servicing of utility systems.
• Report utility equipment faults promptly.
• Follow safety procedures relevant to utility systems, including pressure equipment and electrical systems.
• Use appropriate PPE as required.
• Support emergency response/drills for utility-related incidents, such as power outages or water leaks.
• Maintain accurate utility logs and reports.
• Maintain utility consumption records, including power, water, fuel, and compressed gas.
• Identify opportunities to improve utility efficiency and reduce waste.
• Report utility performance and issues to the Plant Operations Supervisor.
• Support statutory inspection and certification processes for pressure vessels, boilers, and other regulated utility equipment.
• Maintain records required for utility-related regulatory compliance.
• Escalate any non-compliance or overdue inspection items to the Plant Operations Supervisor.

• OND/HND in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or a related technical discipline; SSCE with relevant experience will also be considered.
• 1 to 3 years of experience operating utility systems (power, water, compressed air, or boiler/steam systems) in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of plant utility systems and basic troubleshooting.
• Comfortable monitoring equipment and responding quickly to disruptions.
• Basic proficiency in MS Excel for utility record-keeping.
• Identifies opportunities to improve utility efficiency and reduce waste.
• Maintains honest, accurate utility records at all times.
• Understands that reliable utilities keep production running for customers.
• Responds quickly to utility disruptions and changing plant needs.
• Consistently ensures continuous, reliable utility supply.
• Maintains utility systems to a high standard.
