Job Description

We’re looking for a talented Video Editor to join the post-production team of an exciting children’s television show that blends live action and animation. This role sits at the heart of storytelling and is responsible for shaping episodes from the second cut through to the final cut.

This is not a rough-cut role. You’ll be stepping in when the story is already formed and your job is to elevate it—tighten pacing, refine transitions, and deliver a final product that feels joyful, intentional, and broadcast-ready for young audiences.

If you understand how kids engage with content and can balance creativity with structure, this role has your name on it.

Engagement Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle the second cut and final cut of episodes, refining story flow, timing, and emotional beats
  • Polish edits based on creative notes from producers and directors
  • Seamlessly blend live-action footage and animated sequences into a cohesive viewing experience
  • Fine-tune transitions, rhythm, and continuity to keep young viewers engaged
  • Ensure final edits meet quality, technical, and delivery standards
  • Work collaboratively with the wider creative and animation teams to hit production timelines
  • Manage revisions efficiently without compromising creative quality

Required Skills

Proven experience editing children’s content, TV shows, or youth-focused digital series
Strong command of editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
A solid sense of storytelling, pacing, and visual flow—especially for kids’ programming
Hands-on experience delivering final cuts with minimal supervision
Ability to interpret creative feedback and translate it into strong editorial decisions
Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working to deadlines

Nice to Have
Experience working on projects that combine live action and animation
Familiarity with African or Nigerian children’s content and storytelling styles
A creative eye with a practical, problem-solving mindset
