• Job Location: Lagos or Enugu preferred (remote accepted from other cities with quiet space and recording equipment)
• Employment Type: Paid independent contractor, project-based
• Salary: Discussed with shortlisted candidates based on experience and scope

Goondu Games Studio builds games rooted in everyday life and African stories, with a particular focus on Igbo mythology. The studio is developing an upcoming game featuring street characters, and is hiring voice actors to bring those characters to life. Its work environment is creative and project-driven, with a strong emphasis on authentic, textured performances rather than polished announcer voices.

• Record short lines and phrases in character, in Yoruba, Pidgin and English.
• Deliver several takes of each line with different energy and emotion.
• Record standalone phrases and ad-libs that can be combined in-game.
• Take direction and do pickups and revisions when needed.

• Fluent in Yoruba, Pidgin and English.
• Able to perform husky, raspy voices convincingly (this does not have to be your natural voice).
• Strong character acting, comfortable with loud, fast, street-style delivery.
• Based in Lagos or Enugu (preferred). If in another city, must have a quiet space and decent recording equipment.
• Reliable, able to meet deadlines, and comfortable signing an NDA.

Benefits

• Paid independent contractor role, project-based.
• Credited as a voice actor on the project.
• Short recording window (details shared with shortlisted candidates).

Why This Job Might Be a Good Fit
This role suits a performer who can switch between multiple distinct character voices rather than delivering a single polished read. Because the project focuses on African stories and street culture, the work rewards actors with authentic texture and range, and it offers a credited role in a game production.
