Job Description

We are seeking an Entry-Level VoIP Support Engineer to handle daily administration, installation, and troubleshooting of Voice over IP systems. You will support SIP trunks, IP phones, and voice quality for internal teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Respond to and resolve support tickets (e.g., dropped calls, jitter/latency, connectivity issues). 
- Configure and deploy IP phones (Yealink, Cisco, Polycom, Grandstream) and softphones (Zoiper, 3CX app, Mobyx, etc.). 
- Monitor system uptime and voice traffic using tools; escalate anomalies to senior engineers. 
- Provision users: create accounts, set up extensions, voicemail-to-email, Call Groups, and IVR menus. 
- Troubleshoot issues using packet captures (Wireshark) to analyze SIP signaling. 
- Maintain hardware inventory and detailed logs of network changes/troubleshooting.

Required Skills

- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field. 
- Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs (including Voice VLANs). 
- Basic understanding of SIP and RTP protocols. 
- Comfortable with Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments. 
- Familiarity with Wireshark and basic CLI tools (Ping, Traceroute).

Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Certifications: CompTIA Network+, CCNA (Collaboration or Routing & Switching), or 3CX Basic Certified Engineer. 
- Exposure to platforms such as Asterisk, FreePBX, 3CX, or Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). 
- Strong verbal/written communication skills and patience.
